Local Halloween Events 2021

You don’t have to wait until Halloween to get your costumes out and get started on tricks and treats! Celebrate Halloween throughout October at these local events.

October 8-30

The Haunting at Bear Branch ParkThe Haunting at Bear Branch Park is a haunted trail that takes patrons through fearful twists and turns to make nightmares become reality! The theme for The Haunting this year will be “The Woods.” Ticket sales open at 7:45 p.m., last ticket sold at 9:30 p.m. The trail is open Fridays and Saturdays, October 8-30, from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Learn More

October 16

Pumpkin Water Patch – Find your pumpkin in a bathing suit, paint or carve your pumpkin, go to the different stations to play games, win prizes and don’t forget your trick or treat bag for candy! The event will be held at Creekwood Pool from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Learn More

Shrek-Tacular Halloween Movie Night – Celebrate Halloween at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with a movie night under the stars! Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Families are encouraged to come in costume for a screening of Shrek on the venue’s large LED screens. Mezzanine and lawn seating are FREE. Tickets for GA orchestra seating are $10 each and include unlimited popcorn.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costume for a chance to walk on stage during the concert. The first 100 boys and girls to check in at Hocus Pocus Central in the North Plaza, fully costumed, get the chance to march in the Goblin Parade. Wristbands are required to participate in the Goblin Parade.

Pre-movie activities start at 5:30 p.m. and include making a swamp monster at The Pavilion Partners Arts & Crafts booth, photo opportunities with costumed characters and a variety of spooktacular games in the North Plaza. October 17

Concert in the ParkConcert in the Park is a popular family tradition of music and fun for all ages Sundays at Northshore Park. On October 17, the theme is Halloween so bring your costume and join the Halloween Costume Parade around the park at intermission. Fall and family-friendly backdrops will be available for photos. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. Learn More

October 20-30

Tandem Trick-or-Treat – Take the traditional trick-or-treating experience to the water! Travel via tandem (double) kayak around the lower Waterway and Lake Woodlands to collect Halloween treats from boat house staff. Pre-registration required. Tandem Trick or Treat is held October20, 26, 27, 30 and is suitable for all ages (recommended 10 and under). Fee: $40 per tandem kayak. Learn More

October 23

Trick or Treat Trail – Princesses, pirates, ghosts and goblins don their costumes and enjoy a spooktacular celebration at the annual free community favorite, Trick or Treat Trail at Northshore park from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. The event includes trick or treating from booth to booth with goodies provided by local vendors, in addition to strolling entertainers, carnival games, photo areas, costume contests, Halloween crafts (while supplies last), balloon artists, food trucks, and more. Howl-O-Ween Fall Festival – Get ready to “howl” for a great cause! The East Shore Community will transform Ellipse Park into a PAWS-itively awesome HOWL-O-WEEN Fall Festival! Dozens of ghouls and furry monsters (adoptable homeless pets of Operation Pets Alive! and Friends of Faye) will be in attendance to scare you out of your senses with mega sweetness and puppy kisses! There will be live music and entertainment, a car show, pet vendors galore, a pet parade and costumer contest, a caricaturist, pumpkin maze, pets ‘n pumpkin photos, food trucks, a bake sale, family games, a silent auction and so much more! Funds raised during the event will be halved between Operation Pets Alive! and Friends of Faye, both of which are 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer run animal rescue organizations. Learn More

Halloween in the Park – Halloween in the Park is a free family-friendly fall festival featuring carnival games, inflatables, face painting concessions, and more at Carl Barton Jr. Baseball Park in Conroe from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Learn More

Movie in the Woods – After Halloween In The Park, enjoy the free annual Movie In The Woods event featuring Monsters University at 7:00 p.m. Both events will be held at Carl Barton Jr. Park 2500 S Loop 336 E, Conroe, TX 77302. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. Outside food and drinks are allowed, no concessions will be sold. Learn More

Halloween at the Y Trunk ‘n’ Treat – Put your costumes on, gather your friends and family, and head to The Woodlands Family YMCA for the annual Halloween at the Y Trunk ‘n’ Treat event from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Outdoor activities will include trunk-or-treating, carnival games, a sweet tooth walk, a photo booth, face art, balloon art, bubbles, music, and much more frightful fun. Learn More

October 24

Trot or Treat – Join Inspiration Ranch or free family fun trick-or-treating, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Inspiration Ranch, 33029 Wright Road, in Magnolia. Come take part in games, activities, costumes, and of course, lots of candy! Cars will line the drive, decorated in different themes for kids to trick or treat through. Pumpkin Bob – The City of Conroe presents Pumpkin Bob 2021. Grab your swim suit and join us at The Cherie Angier Educational Pool at Candy Cane Park at 6:00 p.m. for some Fall fun. Only $10 per bobber. Learn More

October 30

CASA Superhero Run & Fall Festival – Get in a walk or run for charity then enjoy candy and festivities at the CASA Superhero Run & Fall Festival! Come in your favorite costumes and enjoy the Children’s Trail of Treats and Fall Festival & Vendor fair immediately following the race. The event will be held at the Lake House at Grand Central Park in Conroe, Texas. Races start at 7:30 a.m. and activities will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Learn More

Trunk or Treat – Fall is upon us! Join The Woodlands Methodist Church on Saturday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. for the annual TRUNK or TREAT and bring all of your closest friends! In TWMC’s Family Life Center parking lot, there will be trick or treating and you can walk from trunk to trunk to get great treats. Dia de los Muertos Festival at The Pearl – The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts presents its first Dia de los Muertos Festival featuring a family-friendly daytime festival and an adult evening concert event. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., families can enjoy the free festival including music, food, hands-on art projects, and more. At 4:00 p.m., the concert begins, feature vocal and instrumental music in a variety of styles and moods on seasonal themes of Day of the Dead, Halloween, and All Saints Day. SpookTacular Halloween Monster Mash Party – Wear your costumes and join The Woodlands Children’s Museum for its annual SpookTacular Halloween Monster Mash Party! This non-spooky event will be filled with child-friendly games and activities from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Enjoy live music with Mr. Will, art projects, science slime, and face painting. Members & Non-Members are $10 for everyone over the age of one. VFW Post 4709’s 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat – Free and open to the public, VFW Post 4709’s 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat will feature pumpkin coloring contests and painting, a photo booth, games, snacks and so much more! VFW Post 4709 has partnered with VFW 4709 Auxiliary, Blue Star Mothers, Conroe Noon Lion’s Club, Honor Cafe, Mason #1444, Theta Nu Beta Veterans Fraternity Inc., Tri-County, Liberty Belles and North Shore Republican Women to create this event. Dia De Los Muertos Celebration – The Mercado takes over the City Place Plaza on Saturday, October 30th from noon to 10:00 pm for City Place’s Dia De Los Muertos celebration. Shop of a variety of curated Mexican folk-art vendors and artisans showcasing an assortment of upscale accessories, art, jewelry, clothing, handcrafted ornaments, and more. Enjoy traditional music and DJs alongside face painters, photo opportunities and kids activities throughout the day, as well as a candlelight procession with mojigangas to the traditional altar at 8:00 pm. “Into the Woods” Halloween Party – The Woodlands Charities is hosting the 4th Annual “Into the Woods” Halloween Party and Fundraiser at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. The party features a costume contest, generous delectable bites and hocus pocus drinks, a live band, a wine pull, fortune tellers, a photo booth, entertaining games, mystery boxes and much more! The entire night is fun-filled and all for a good cause – benefitting five local charities, Yes to Youth Montgomery County, Community Assistance Center, The Woodlands Family YMCA, The Rotary Club of The Woodlands, and New Danville. October 31

Monster Mash – The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park is open and celebrating Halloween this year and you are invited! Activities include trick or treating with dressed-up recreation staff, inflatables, games, crafts, costume contests and more! It will be a free spooktacular time, so be sure to put The Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park on your trick-or-treat route this Halloween! The free event is from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Learn More

Truck or TreatTruck or Treat returns on Halloween night! For safe, family Halloween fun, come show Spring firefighters your costumes, see fire trucks, and get some good candy. The fun happens on Halloween evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at all nine Spring Fire Stations. Find the station closest to you at www.springfd.org/our-coverage-area and we’ll see all you ghosts and goblins on Halloween. Learn More

Family Movie Night: Coco – Celebrate Halloween with a Family Movie Night screening of the Pixar classic, Coco starting at 6:00 p.m. on The City Place Plaza. Shenandoah Halloween Safe Streets Parade – The city staff will leave Public Works at approximately 5:00 pm to begin the parade route. Children will be given individual bags of candy along the route by city staff, Councilmembers, and volunteers. In areas where the trailer cannot safely travel, SHPD officers will bring bags down the street to share. Learn More
