Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas IRONKIDS inspires young athletes

By  |

The Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash was held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Town Green Park.

The IRONKIDS events included the Diaper Dash (26.2 feet for independent crawlers under 2 years), the Toddler Dot Trot (for ages 1-3), half-mile (for ages 3-8) and mile (for ages 5-17). Designed to inspire young athletes and promote healthy living, the exhilarating event provided a day filled with excitement, outdoor activities and community spirit. Each athlete received a goodie bag with a race bib, finisher shirt, medal, and the pride of calling themselves an IRONKID.

Following the children’s races, the highly anticipated Doggie Dash began with leashed and vaccinated dogs aged six months and older. Along with their handlers aged 12 and over, they had the opportunity to participate in two exciting courses.

In addition to the races, participants could enjoy fun family-friendly activities at the Village booths starting at 8:30 a.m. From mingling with mascots (Houston Astros’ Orbit, Houston Rockets’ Clutch, and Captain America) to navigating obstacle courses, enjoying arts and crafts, and indulging in snow cones, there was something for the entire family.

The annual Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas IRONKIDS Fun Run and Doggie Dash is typically held in The Woodlands one week before the 2024 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN® The Americas Championship Texas Triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN North America Series, that will place next Saturday, April 27.
