Insperity Invitational: Pink Out Day at the PGA TOUR Champions Tournament
Today on Saturday, May 4, Round 1 and 2 of Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare took place at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.
Due to severe weather and unplayable conditions at the Course, play was cancelled on Friday, May 3 for the previously scheduled Round 1. Tournament officials were able to revise Saturday’s schedule in an effort to complete the first two rounds of competition play for the Insperity Invitational while also continuing to hold the Folds of Honor Great of Golf Competition.

Round 1 began early this morning at 7 a.m. with a scheduled time of 11:50 a.m. for the Folds of Honor Greats of Golf and an estimated 12:45 p.m. start time for Round 2. The Folds of Honor Greats of Golf Competition is world class gathering of 17 of the game’s greatest players will tee off on the 10th hole for a nine-hole scramble exhibition. Admission today was free for guests courtesy of Insperity and Woodforest National Bank.
Saturday, May 4 was “Pink Out Day” and guests coming to The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course were encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. For this special day, Insperity Invitational partnered with local nonprofit Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center to bring awareness to this incredible and unique center.. The mission of Canopy is to integrate cancer survivorship into the continuum of cancer care by providing the finest support, education and integrative services to all those impacted by cancer regardless of where patients are receiving treatment. Located at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, the center serves as the primary location for activities aimed at helping patients and families throughout all phases of their illness, as well as assistance in navigating life after treatment. Created to be a warm and welcoming place with all elements centered on creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere for those who visit. Canopy is a home-away-from-home for cancer survivors and their families, at no cost to them.

The updated start time for Round 3, the Final Round of Championship Play, is 10 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, May 5. Tee times for Sunday’s final round are scheduled from 10 a.m. – 12:06 p.m. Admission will be free courtesy of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

- In his first start since tearing his Achilles on February 1, World Golf Hall of Fame member and 4-time Insperity Invitational winner Bernhard Langer sits T31 at 1-under 143 after opening rounds of 69-74.
