The Woodlands Township’s Recycling Drive-Thru offers free, one-day special collection

Join The Woodlands Township at the Recycling Drive-Thru for a free, one-day special collection. Bring those hard-to-recycle items and help keep them out of the landfill while recycling right! The Recycling Drive-Thru will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9 a.m. to noon at Sterling Ridge Park & Ride, 8001 McBeth Way.

The Woodlands Township invites residents to bring select items for a free, one-day special collection at the Recycling Drive-Thru (formerly known as the 3R Drive-Thru), located at the Sterling Ridge Park & Ride on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon. This free event is an opportunity to recycle items that cannot be recycled in curbside carts. Join us in diverting these items from the landfill by recycling right with The Woodlands Township!

Help by following these guidelines: Bag or box like items together and place in your trunk or back seat. Volunteers will provide a full-service drive-thru, so please stay in your vehicle. No business items will be accepted.

Accepted Items

  • Batteries – Alkaline AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V; lead acid; silver oxide; lithium ion, button cell, and coin lithium; nickel cadmium; nickel metal hydride; and zinc carbon
  • Bicycles – Any condition
  • Block Styrofoam - No food containers or cups
  • Cigarettes – Cigarette filters, loose tobacco pouches and rolling paper
  • Disposable razors and packaging
  • Eyeglasses, sunglasses and cases
  • Lightbulbs – Incandescent, Compact Fluorescent (CFL) and LED only. Must be intact, not broken. No tube lights over 4 feet.
  • Oral Care Products - Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and floss containers
  • Plastic Bags and Film – Any plastic film that is clean, dry and stretchy
  • Small Electronics – One file box or paper shopping bag per vehicle, laptops, tablets, cell phones and cords only. No TVs or monitors. Proof of Woodlands address (Driver’s License or utility bill required).
  • Snack & Drink Pouches – Any brand that comes with a straw or lid
  • Textiles – Used clothing, shoes, linens, fabric scrap in any condition

The Recycling Drive-Thru is hosted by The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department in partnership with The Lions Club, Chevron Phillips Chemical, Green City Recycler, Bike The Woodlands, Recycled Cycles of Texas, The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N., and Girl Scout Troop 108094.
