The Woodlands Symphony performs Music of Grateful Dead and More at The Pavilion
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion held the the free performing arts series show, “Dead Symphony: The Music of Grateful Dead and More,” with The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra on Tuesday, September 29.
“Dead Symphony” brought the free-flowing, improvisational spirit of jam bands like Grateful Dead and Phish into a new dimension – performed by local musicians of the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra, led by Darryl Bayer. Symphonic textures met extended grooves, melodies evolved, and every song had a life of its own. Attendees enjoyed swirling soundscapes, unexpected turns, and the kind of musical journey that rewards you for leaning in and letting go. No matter if you are a longtime jam-band devotee or just curious what happens when orchestral musicians tap into that same exploratory energy, Dead Symphony was a night built for discovery.

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Performing Arts Season continues on Friday, October 23 for “Hocus Pocus Pops” with the Houston Symphony. No Ticket Required! Gates open at 6:00 p.m., Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
