1. Why do you enjoy living (and working, if applicable) in The Woodlands?

I spent my elementary school years here in The Woodlands (Go Hailey Comets!), played my first organized sports at the South County YMCA, and even when we moved to next door to Spring, spent my entire childhood in the area. After heading off to college, law school, and starting my career, I made my way back here with my wife, Amy, in 2010. We love The Woodlands because it’s the perfect combination of a thriving business community and an incredible place to live, with things to do for everyone, kids and adults alike. The schools, both public and private, are incredible. Most of all, the people are incredible. The number of talented, dedicated people in The Woodlands that give their time, money, and attention to this community is unmatched, and it’s what makes The Woodlands truly the best place in America to live, work, play, and pray.

2. What motivates you to run for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors?

I want to preserve what makes The Woodlands special. I want to continue the great work others have done before me to allow it to be what it is, while making sure we continue to innovate and evolve over time in order to keep it special.

Before they filled up Lake Woodlands in 1985, I was a 4-year old little boy right there celebrating at The Bottom of the Lake Festival with my family. After school every day as a kid, I was at the South County YMCA on Shadowbend Place, which just celebrated the 40th anniversary of the facility, and I was in attendance. When it came time to put down roots and choose the place my wife and I wanted to raise our kids, we chose to move back to The Woodlands. I’m a business owner in The Woodlands, and have been for almost 14 years now. This truly is my home, and my family’s home.

There are thousands of communities all across America, and very few of them are places that kids want to return to after they go off into the world. I always dreamed of being able to come back here one day and raise my family because of the incredible place it was then and is now, and that dream has been realized. I want to make sure that my children, your children, and their children, all have a reason to have that same dream.

3. If elected, what would your top 3 priorities as a Township Board of Director be? How would you work to impact/shape the future of The Woodlands?

Furthering The Woodlands’ commitment to public safety, exploring new ways to keep our taxes low while still maintaining the character of quality of what we offer here, and making sure we continue to keep and attract great businesses while preserving the wonderful, natural environment we all love are my top priorities.

4. Would you like to share any other words or a message to The Woodlands community?

The Woodlands has been “home” all my life, no matter where I was physically located, and that will always be the case. I love this community, and hope to do everything I can to leave it better than I found it. That’s a tall order, but I know it can be done.
