Township Board meets, approves selection of architect for fire station renovations
The Woodlands Township Board of Directors met Thursday, September 22, 2022, and discussed a nomination to fill a vacancy on the Montgomery Central Appraisal District Board, selected an architect for design and construction services for The Woodlands Fire Department facilities and received a variety of reports from Township departments.
The Board of Directors also recognized several programs with proclamations including International Walk to School Month, National Night Out and Dyslexia Awareness Month:
- Walk to School Month promotes clean air, healthy kids and families, a sense of community, and safe use of the community’s pathways, exemplifying our community values. Since 2005, The Woodlands Township has ranked in the top two of Texas communities with the most participating schools. The Township’s Neighborhood Services Department coordinates Walk to School with support from the Environmental Services and Parks and Recreation Departments, Conroe Independent School District Police, and the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4.
- National Night Out is a nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program that will be hosted by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch on Sunday, October 2, 2022. National Night Out provides a unique opportunity for residents of The Woodlands to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country to promote cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts.
- Dyslexia Awareness Month recognizes the ongoing needs of individuals with language-based learning differences. Dyslexia Awareness Month is an opportunity to acknowledge those who are affected by dyslexia in both academic settings and work environments.
