American National Bank & Trust announces key leadership transition
As American National Bank & Trust celebrates 50 years of service, the bank is pleased to announce a strategic leadership transition. Effective January 1, 2026, Dwight Berry continues his tenure as Chief Executive Officer, while Craig Berry has assumed the role of President while maintaining his responsibilities as Chief Lending Officer.
Legacy of Growth and Vision
Dwight Berry, who joined the bank in 1981, has served as both President and CEO since 2011. His unwavering commitment to our customers, employees, and shareholders has defined the bank’s core values and solidified AMNAT as a pillar of the communities we serve. In his ongoing role as CEO, Dwight will continue to guide the bank’s long-term strategy and vision, drawing on 58 years of banking experience.

Elevating Leadership: Craig Berry as President
In his elevated role as President, Craig Berry will oversee day-to-day operations and lead cross-departmental integration on strategic initiatives. He remains focused on supporting management team leaders and fostering the community relationships that define the bank’s culture.
Key highlights of Craig’s tenure and expanded role include:
- Proven Growth: During his time as Chief Lending Officer, Craig spearheaded significant expansion from the Wichita Falls market into the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston regions, achieving 18% Loan CAGR since 2020 with total loans now surpassing $1.8 Billion.
- Operational Expertise: With 25 years in banking and 10 years at AMNAT, he continues to lead the commercial lending team, market expansion, and capital plan initiatives.
- Industry Leadership: Craig serves as a Director for AmeriBancShares, Inc., member of the Texas Bankers Association’s CEO and Senior Management Forum alongside various Fort Worth community involvements.
