Angel Reach awarded $30,000 grant from CHI St. Luke’s Hospital, CommonSpirit Health Foundation
Angel Reach, the Montgomery County nonprofit focused on meeting the needs of youth who have aged out of the foster care system and those living with relatives in kinship homes, was chosen to receive a $30,000 grant from CommonSpirit Health Foundation through CHI St. Luke’s Hospital. The funds will go towards providing counseling and psychiatric assessments for those served through the Angel Reach programs.
“Youth in the foster care system have significantly higher rates of mental health challenges compared to their non-foster care peers. These challenges don’t cease when they leave the system,” said Dan Alexander, Angel Reach Chief Executive Officer. “Up to 80% of children in foster care have significant mental health needs, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other disorders. With this grant, Angel Reach will be more strongly positioned to help meet some of those needs.”
Presenting the check for CHI St. Luke’s Health to Alexander and the Angel Reach staff were Jim Parisi, President and Syed Raza, MD, Chief Medical Officer, as well as Enrique Contreras-Martinez, Director of Mission and Spiritual Care for CommonSpirit Health.

The mission of CommonSpirit Health is building healthier communities, advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable, and innovating how and where healing can happen. They accomplish this through their member facilities like St. Luke’s Hospital to provide resources and support.
“We are extremely grateful for this opportunity to partner with St. Luke’s Hospital and CommonSpirit Health Foundation to help begin the healing that will lead to better outcomes,” said Alexander.
Angel Reach depends on the generosity and support of corporate donors like St. Luke’s Hospital and individual donors. They offer a wide range of financial and volunteer opportunities for community support. To find out more, visit the website at www.AngelReach.org.
