Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands Named Best Hospitals for 2025-2026 by U.S. News & World Report
Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands Hospital were recognized by U.S. News & World Report as 2025-2026 Best Hospitals while St. Luke’s Health-Lakeside Hospital was named a High Performing hospital.
Baylor St. Luke’s ranked nationally as a Best Hospital in three specialties:
- Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery, No. 25
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, No. 45
- Neurology & Neurosurgery, No. 46
Baylor St. Luke’s earned top “High Performing” ratings for its Cancer, Geriatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, and Urology service lines. The following procedures and conditions received “High Performing” ratings:

Overall, Baylor St. Luke’s is ranked No. 2 in the Houston Metro Area and No. 4 in Texas.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Only 13% of the hospitals evaluated earned a Best Hospitals designation.

St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands garnered a regional ranking of No. 10 hospital in the Houston Metro area. It received top “High Performing” ratings for the following procedures and conditions: Kidney Failure, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Heart Arrhythmia, Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Hip Fracture, Pneumonia, and Stroke.

St. Luke’s Health-Lakeside received a “High Performing” rating for Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion).
More than half, 55, of CommonSpirit Health’s full-service acute care hospitals were recognized in the annual rankings, affirming the system’s commitment to high-quality care across its 24-state footprint.
To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
