Brice Family Gift expands and enhances Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Breast Center in honor of Melissa Preston
A generous and heartfelt gift from Trey and Jessica Brice, made in honor of beloved mother and community advocate Melissa Preston, is enabling the expansion and enhancement of the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center Breast Center.

Thanks to this transformative philanthropic support, patients have started to experience a more advanced and patient-centered space as early as this summer. The improvements will further strengthen the center’s mission to provide compassionate, comprehensive breast care to the community—without ever pausing patient services.
“There was never a moment when care stopped,” said Justin Kendrick, Senior Vice President and CEO, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands and Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. “This gift allowed us to enhance the patient experience in real time, reflecting the legacy of care and strength that Melissa Preston embodied throughout her life.”
While there was no need for a traditional grand opening—since patients have continued to receive uninterrupted care—the Brice family, hospital leadership, and community partners will come together this October to celebrate the expanded Breast Center and honor the life and impact of Melissa Preston with an official renaming of the center to be the Melissa Preston Breast Center. The celebration will be a meaningful start to breast cancer awareness month, followed by the 25th anniversary of In the Pink of Health, a passion of Melissa’s, held this year on October 24.

Melissa Preston was known for her warmth, resilience, and fierce commitment to others. Her legacy lives on through this gift, which will provide comfort, hope, and healing for thousands of patients in the years to come.
More details about the October celebration will be announced soon.
