Celebrate 4th of July in The Woodlands with 3 Days of Events & Entertainment
Celebrate America 250 in The Woodlands with three days of patriotic fun, family traditions and entertainment! As the nation marks 250 years of independence, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a full lineup of events from July 2 through July 4, 2026, including a patriotic 5K, community chalk art contest, a Fourth of July parade, pool parties, live music and fireworks. Whether you’re continuing a family tradition or starting a new one, there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the community.

Let Freedom Chalk
Show off your creativity and patriotic spirit in the community-wide Let Freedom Chalk contest. Residents of all ages are invited to transform sidewalks and pathways throughout The Woodlands into colorful displays celebrating America.
Free chalk packs (10 pieces per pack) will be available for pickup at The Woodlands Township Town Hall front desk beginning Monday, June 22 through Thursday, July 2, 2026, during regular business hours, while supplies last.
Participants may submit photos of their completed artwork from June 29 through July 2. One winner from each village will be selected and recognized with a trophy and prize on July 6, 2026.
Firecracker 5K | July 2
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary on The Woodlands Waterway during the Firecracker 5K, a one-time-only patriotic race on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 7 p.m.
Open to runners of all abilities, participants are encouraged to show their patriotic pride by dressing in festive red, white and blue attire.
Firecracker 5K is proudly supported by Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, Presenting and Medical Sponsor; The Strong Firm, Official Risk Management Sponsor; and Black Walnut Cafe, Official Training Partner.
Star-Spangled Salute | July 3
Kick off Independence Day weekend at the Star-Spangled Salute on July 3 at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. This cherished community tradition features the acclaimed Houston Symphony performing patriotic favorites and American classics in a memorable evening of music and celebration.

South County Fourth of July Parade | July 4
Celebrate 50 years of patriotic tradition at the 50th Annual South County Fourth of July Parade, proudly presented by Waste Connections. The parade starts at 9 a.m. and winds through The Woodlands Town Center and Market Street with fire engines, floats, military units and more. Pre-parade entertainment begins at 8 a.m. in Market Street.

Red, Hot & Pool | July 4
Cool off and celebrate at Red, Hot & Pool, happening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Township pools throughout the community. Each pool will host its own themed activities, games and refreshments while supplies last, with the biggest celebrations taking place between noon and 4 p.m. Daily pool fees apply for residents and non-residents. Admission is included with a season pool pass.
Red, Hot & Blue Festival | July 4
The Township will host festivities across multiple locations on July 4, beginning at 6 p.m. for the Red, Hot & Blue Festival and culminating in the Fireworks Extravaganza at approximately 9:30 p.m. Four of the five locations will feature live music, family-friendly activities, and all five locations will feature fireworks:
- Town Green Park: Live music on two stages by Flashpoint and Rewind Band, kids’ activities, and fireworks.
- Northshore Park: Music by Jonah Miles and a prime fireworks viewing area.
- Waterway Square: Performance by Time Warp and fireworks.
- Hughes Landing: Live music by D’Luna and fireworks (limited visibility).
- Rob Fleming Park: Fireworks only. Please note there will be no concessions, vendors, live music or additional activities at this location.
To enhance your fireworks experience, tune in to KSTAR Country 99.7 FM or stream online for a synchronized musical soundtrack. Teaser fireworks will be launched at 9, 9:10, and 9:20 p.m. from all sites to help attendees find the best viewing spots. The America 250 drone show at Northshore Park begins at 9:25 p.m., followed by fireworks displays throughout the community at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Residents and visitors are reminded that personal fireworks are strictly prohibited within The Woodlands under Township Covenants and Standards. For the safety of the community, everyone is encouraged to enjoy the professional fireworks displays provided throughout The Woodlands and leave fireworks to the experts.
