Child Predator arrested after turning himself in
On Friday, March 21, 2025, Constable Ryan Gable’s Safe Harbor Detectives were alerted by the Houston Police Department and Child Protective Services regarding Steven Ray Hawkins, a 61-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a child under the age of 10 in South Montgomery County, Texas.
Montgomery County Precinct. 3 Detectives undertook a comprehensive investigation into the claims and established enough probable cause to charge Hawkins with Indecency with a Child, classified as a second-degree felony. Although Pct. 3 Detectives issued an arrest warrant at that time, they were unable to determine Hawkins’ location. On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Pct. 3 Detectives were informed that Hawkins had surrendered and turned himself in to the Houston Police Department.
