Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Texas Fun Run & Doggie Dash moves to Northshore Park for April 11
The 2026 Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Texas Fun Run & Doggie Dash event is moving to Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Dr. in The Woodlands, and is set for Saturday, April 11. The event is open to children and teens ages 1 to 17. Para-athletes and running clubs welcome!
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with the opening of village family-friendly booths/activities. Opening ceremonies and the warm-up start at 9:30 a.m., the children’s races start by 10 a.m. and dog events get underway around 11 a.m.
The IRONKIDS Fun Run offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Each child receives a bag, T-shirt, racer bib and finisher medal.
The races include:
- Diaper Dash 26.2 ft. | Independent crawlers, under 2 years
- Toddler Dot Trot 80 ft. | Independent walkers, ages 1-3 years
- Half mile (ages 3-8 years)
- Mile (ages 5-17 years)
- The Doggie Dash – Half mile or mile (Dogs should be 6 months or older, leashed with their adult handler. Dogs must be vaccinated. Each dog receives a bandana and a finisher dog tag medal.)
In addition to the race events, the park will also have fun activities for families of all ages, including mingling with mascots, snow cones, photo opportunities, pet and health booths, an obstacle course, various games, face painting, crafts, and pediatric ambulance tours.
Save time – early pick-up for goodie bags (shirt and runner bib; dog bandana and runner bib) takes place on Thursday, April 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Friday, April 10 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Kevin Brady Community Center in the Judge Edie Connelly Room (2250 Buckthorne Pl, The Woodlands, TX 77380). Items may also be picked up the morning of the event at Northshore Park.
