City Place Marriott named Hotel of the Year and Arc ZERO Public Art earns international recognition
North Houston’s City Place is celebrating two significant national and international recognitions that underscore the mixed-use destination’s growing reputation for exceptional hospitality, placemaking and public art.
The Houston City Place Marriott has been named Hotel of the Year in Marriott International’s 2025 U.S. & Canada Hospitality Excellence Awards, one of the company’s highest honors. The designation was awarded to just nine franchised Premium and Luxury hotels across the United States and Canada, recognizing outstanding performance in guest satisfaction, operational excellence and overall hospitality.
The recognition comes as City Place continues to strengthen its position as one of Greater Houston’s premier destinations for business travelers, meeting attendees, leisure visitors and community events.

Adding to the momentum, Arc ZERO, the immersive light installation by internationally acclaimed artist James Tapscott currently on display at City Place, has been selected among the CODAawards Top 100, an international recognition celebrating the world’s most successful collaborations integrating commissioned art into architecture, interiors and public spaces.
Presented annually by CODAworx, the Top 100 program recognizes projects that demonstrate excellence in integrating art into the built environment, highlighting innovative collaborations between artists, designers, architects and developers from around the world. Arc ZERO is also eligible for the CODAawards People’s Choice Award, with public voting open through July 31.
The dual honors highlight City Place’s continued investment in experiences that extend well beyond traditional mixed-use development, pairing award-winning hospitality with a robust year-round calendar of cultural programming, large-scale public art, wellness events and community gatherings that have helped establish the district as one of the Houston region’s most dynamic destinations.
