Conroe ISD Board approves Dr. Ted Landry as Interim Superintendent
The Conroe ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Dr. Ted Landry as interim superintendent during a special board meeting Monday.
“The Board is pleased to announce the selection of one of our very own as Interim Superintendent and reflects our deep confidence in Dr. Landry’s leadership, dedication, and long-standing service to our CISD community,” the Board said in a joint statement. “As we enter this new season, we are thrilled to move forward together, building on our shared commitment to excellence and taking our District to the next level.”

Landry has been serving as the principal at The Woodlands High School since 2018 and has 30 years of experience in public education. He was the principal at Kingwood High School after a stint as special assistant to the superintendent of Humble ISD, where he implemented a curriculum audit and updated school board policies.
In remarking about his new role, Landry stated, “I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to serve Conroe ISD as interim superintendent. I have treasured my time at The Woodlands High School and look forward to continuing to serve the Conroe ISD community.”
A native of south Louisiana, Landry began his career as a teacher, coach, and counselor in his home state. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Louisiana and his doctoral degree at the University of Houston. Prior to college, he served in the United States Marine Corps.
Landry will fill the vacancy left after Lake Travis ISD named Dr. Curtis Null the lone finalist for its superintendent position on May 1. Null will assume his new role on June 2.
The Board interviewed four finalists from its pool of 12 applicants during Monday’s special meeting before making its decision. Another special board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 1 p.m.
