Cooper Showcases Student Talent in LIFE! Performance

By  |

The John Cooper School showcased the talent of its students in LIFE!, featuring a short play, outstanding singers, a pointe dancer, contortionists, aerialists, and more. Performances were held from May 5-7, 2023 at the Glenn Performing Arts Center on the Cooper campus, under the direction of renowned dance instructor and choreographer Elizabeth DeMonico. DeMonico also took on the labor intensive process of hand-sewing costumes as costume designer.

The show featured 6-12th grade students performing a wide variety of dances including hip hop, ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. The accompanying music spanned genres and decades. The experience of art and what it means to different people, from ancient to modern forms, was one of the topics explored in the program.
