Drowning under investigation in Creekside Park in The Woodlands

The Woodlands Fire Department responded to a possible drowning on Sunday evening, June 29, and shared the following statement.

“At 9:20 Sunday Evening TWFD and Harris County ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare were dispatched to Wendtwoods Park in the Village of Creekside Park for a possible drowning at the park pond. When firefighters arrived they were informed that a person had gone into the water and had been missing for approximately 20 minutes. Firefighters searched the area and once the rescue boat arrived they were able to use side scanning sonar to locate and recover the body of a 19 year old male. Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 is investigating the incident.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office followed up with an update this morning, June 30 at 7:12am.

“Last night, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the 8900 block of Creekside Green Drive following reports of a possible drowning.

The Woodlands Fire Department immediately deployed rescue boats into the pond in an effort to locate and recover the victim. Despite swift action by rescue teams, the 19 year old victim was located unresponsive. Emergency personnel confirmed the victim deceased at the scene.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life. This is a devastating tragedy and our thoughts are with everyone affected.”
