THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – The Woodlands Township is now registering volunteers for the Earth Day GreenUp, a Great American Cleanup event, on Saturday, March 23, 2019. For the ninth consecutive year, The Township will participate in the nationwide stewardship project.

Neighborhoods, clubs, scouts, church groups, schools, families and individuals are invited to join in the cleanup effort that targets litter on pathways, waterways and natural areas.

Registration is available online at through March 11, 2019. A limited number of trash grabbers will be available for loan to groups that pre-register on the website. Walk-up registration is also welcome the morning of the event, starting at 8 a.m. A list of park check-in locations in each village is available on the Township website. All participants will receive disposable gloves, trash bags, instructions and an assigned pick-up area at check-in. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves to reduce waste.

The whole community is invited to the post pick-up celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive in The Woodlands 77381. Activities will include free face painting, games and a concert. Pick-up participants will receive free pizza, snacks and soft drinks along with an event T-shirt, while supplies last. Everyone is encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to be filled at the refilling station. The general public will be able to purchase food items.
