False alarm report of an active shooter at Williams Elementary in Magnolia

At 12:41 pm today, a teacher at Willie E. Williams Elementary School heard what she believed to be gunshots and called 911 from an interior classroom not knowing a storm had moved into the area. 

Deputies from the Precinct 5 Constables Office, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Magnolia Police Department, Todd Mission Police Department and the Magnolia Fire Department all arrived on scene within minutes and began to clear the building. 

Deputies quickly found the 911 caller confirming there was no active threat and what she heard was thunder.  All rooms in the building were cleared for safety and the school was re-opened by 1:03 pm to resume normal activities. The Magnolia ISD alert system put neighboring schools on lockdown, but those schools have since re-opened due to no active threat. Precinct 5 Constable Deputies will remain on scene for the remainder of the day to assist with student pick up.

Constable Chris would like to thank all agencies for their quick response and assistance securing the campus.  The students and staff of Magnolia ISD will remain a top priority for all Montgomery County Law Enforcement.
