Five Constable Precincts escort Flood Victim back home to Montgomery County to be laid to rest

Today, July 9, Deputies from five Constable Precincts and Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management are escorting a flood victim back home to Montgomery County so she can be laid to rest.

On Tuesday, July 8, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough shared a heartbreaking update that one of Montgomery County’s residents and recent graduate of Caney Creek High School, Reese Manchaca, was found deceased following the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

Today, Wednesday, July 9 at 3:35pm Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management shared, “Our office along with all five constable precincts were in Kerrville early this morning to escort one of our residents, Reese Manchaca, home after she was tragically killed in the devastating floods in Kerr County. We want to thank all of our Constables for their assistance In planning and ensuring we had deputies to make this special trip to honor the life of one of our residents. We ask for continued prayers for the family and all of those affected by this tragedy and for our first responders and OEM personnel on the ground in Kerr County still today working to locate everyone who remains missing.”

Earlier this morning at 8:32am, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough shared an update stating, “This morning all 5 constable precincts have sent deputies to Kerrville to escort Reese Manchaca back to Montgomery County so she can be laid to rest. I want to thank all of our Constables for answering the call and providing some comfort to the family during this difficult time. My office has been coordinating this with the family and our team. Please continue to keep the family and friends of Reese in your thoughts and prayers and our deputies as they make the journey home this morning.”

UPDATE 7/9/25 5:41pm: Judge Mark Keough shared that all deputies have made it home safe to Montgomery County. “Montgomery County showed up today to honor one of our own and the public’s outpouring of support for Reese and her family hasn’t gone unnoticed. Her mother and I spoke shortly after the conclusion of the escort and she is forever grateful for the love and support each of you have shown. Keep those prayers coming!”
