Grogan’s Mill Village Center officially opens with Retail Revitalization
Howard Hughes hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today, Wednesday, June 25, marking the official opening of the newly revitalized 31,363-square-foot retail portion of Grogan’s Mill Village Center in The Woodlands. After approximately 10 months of transformation, this milestone celebrates the evolution of the historic village center — introducing modern amenities, welcoming new tenants, and reaffirming its role as a vibrant community hub.

“Howard Hughes remains committed to creating vibrant, connected communities, and the revitalization of Grogan’s Mill Village Center reflects that mission,” said Jim Carman, President, Houston Region for Howard Hughes. “When we acquired the retail components in 2023, it had long suffered from disinvestment, high vacancies, and a lack of vision. We saw an opportunity—and a responsibility—to bring this original village center back to life. This transformation is more than a facelift; it’s a thoughtful reinvestment that blends new energy with Grogan’s Mill’s rich history, creating a place residents can once again be proud of.”
Several businesses remained open throughout the year-long renovation, and the refreshed center now features a mix of established favorites and new retail offerings, with even more to come. Recent additions include the newly announced Yonutz, a gourmet donuts and ice cream concept known for their “smashed donut” featuring ice cream in the middle of the dessert. Also new to the village center are Plush Nail Bar, and SUNA Studio joining a beloved lineup that includes Brite Touch Cleaners, Brother’s Pizza, Ome Calli Café, Safeway Driving, The UPS Store, and Woodforest National Bank.
Later this summer, the highly anticipated Kevin Brady Library and Community Center will open, further enriching the array of amenities available to residents. Developed in collaboration with Howard Hughes and Montgomery County Precinct 3, the new space features a state-of-the-art community center designed to support voting, local events, gatherings, and senior programs. The upgraded library will include a dedicated children’s area, a young adult’s room, multiple study and workspaces, podcast studio, 3D printing lab and a 100-person theatre-style classroom—reinforcing its role as a valuable resource for education and community engagement.
“We invite residents from across The Woodlands to experience the transformation firsthand. With new restaurants and retailers coming soon, and the opening of the Kevin Brady Library and Community Center in partnership with Montgomery County Precinct 3 later this summer, there’s more to come,” said Carman.
