Grogan’s Park Businesses to host National Selfie Day Event
Grogan’s Park businesses are set to host a community wide event for National Selfie Day on Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd. Participating businesses will have custom designed displays and props for visitors to take and share selfies, complete with a contest.
National Selfie Day was created to celebrate yourself and your selfies! The selfie movement was born out of the creation of smart phone, and it has morphed into a global phenomenon. Today, selfies have become a fabric of our culture.
“Local businesses in our center have put together this fun, lighthearted selfie event to engage with our local community,” said Julie Verville, Ardest Gallery owner. “We are excited to not only share the creativity of our local businesses with the photo opportunities created and designed, but to see fun images patrons create and share from the 2-day event.”

- Ardest Gallery
- Breathe Pilates
- Buy the Book
- Karden Lane
- Lavish Salon & Boutique
- Mindy Harmon Portrait Design Studio
- The Woodlands Yoga Studio
- Third Gen Coffee
Visitors to participating businesses are encouraged to take selfies and share on their social media accounts using the hashtags #nationalselfieday and #grogansparkselfies, along with tagging the individual business associated with the backdrop or props. Images will be reviewed from the event, and winners will be selected and announced.
“We encourage local residents to come out to strike a pose, capture a look, and most importantly to create fun memories with their family and friends,” said Rachel Reyes, co-owner and founder with husband Marlon of Third Gen Coffee.
Visitors can pick-up a brochure at participating businesses offering selfie opportunities on both Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd.
