By  |

Interfaith of The Woodlands celebrated and honored Hometown Heroes at the Celebration of Excellence Gala on Friday, February 28 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. The Gala, presented by Woodforest National Bank, raised much needed funds for Interfaith of The Woodlands. These essential funds will be used to assist individuals and families in crisis by offering aid such as food, shelter, clothing vouchers, rent and mortgage assistance, utility assistance, gas cards, job placements, and much more.

The 2025 Hometown Heroes honored were Cathy Brady, Jim Rapp, Jim Wendt, Nick Wolda, Truluck’s The Woodlands, and YES to YOUTH.

The event with the theme “Dancing in the Moonlight” raised funds for the many programs and services of Interfaith of The Woodlands. Since 1973, Interfaith has acted as an incubator for community social services and a support for new congregations, helping families in crisis by providing financial assistance along with senior programs, counseling referrals, job training, childcare, and healthcare through Interfaith Community Clinic.

The 2025 Celebration of Excellence Co-chairs were Julie Lile and Jen McDonald along with Honorary Chairs Mary Anne and Mark Whitney. Hometown Heroes from 1999 to 2025 were also in attendance and recognized for their contributions to the community.
