Interfaith of The Woodlands prepares over 2,500 students for academic success through Kits 4 Kidz Program

By  |

Interfaith of The Woodlands proudly announced that more than 2,500 local Conroe ISD students will begin the 2025–2026 school year ready to learn, thanks to its annual Kits 4 Kidz School Supplies Assistance Program. This long-standing initiative ensures that children from all walks of life receive the same high-quality, grade-specific supplies as their classmates, helping to eliminate barriers to success in the classroom.

Each participating student received a complete package of grade- and school-specific supplies, a brand-new backpack, groceries from the Food Pantry for their family, and a voucher to Interfaith’s Hand Me Up Shop for a back-to-school outfit. By providing these essential items, Kits 4 Kidz helps students start the school year on equal footing with their peers — both academically and socially.

“Each summer, local families in crisis come to Interfaith to register for this program, knowing it will give their children the tools and confidence they need to succeed,” said Missy Herndon, President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands. “The school supply packs provided by Interfaith are identical to those distributed by Parent Teacher Organizations, ensuring that all students, regardless of their circumstances, can walk into class prepared and proud.”

The impact of this program extends beyond the first day of school. For many families, purchasing supplies can present a significant financial challenge, particularly when also facing the costs of clothing, shoes, and other back-to-school expenses. Kits 4 Kidz alleviates that burden, allowing parents to focus their resources on other critical needs.

Interfaith’s ability to serve so many children is made possible through the generosity of donors, community partners, and a dedicated groups of volunteers who unbox and help distribute the supplies each year. Their efforts reflect the heart of Interfaith’s mission — to build a more loving and caring community through service.

The Kits 4 Kidz School Supplies Assistance Program is one of many ways Interfaith supports local families in need, offering a range of Programs and Services that promote self-sufficiency, stability, and dignity.
