THE WOODLANDS TOWNSHIP BOARD OF DIRECTORS – 2026 CANDIDATE
Linda Nelson is running for The Woodlands Township Board Position 2.

1. Why do you enjoy living and working in The Woodlands?
The Woodlands is more than where I live – it is home. My family and I feel safe here, value the strong sense of community, and appreciate the quality of life this special place offers. With more than 30 years working at Memorial Hermann and two terms serving on the Township Board of Directors, I’m grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and serve in a community I care about so deeply.

2. What motivates you to run for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors?
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve, and I believe my experience has prepared me to help address the challenges and opportunities ahead. My motivation is simple: to listen to residents, protect the quality of life that makes The Woodlands special, and help ensure that our community remains safe, vibrant, financially strong, and well-positioned for the future.

3. If elected, what would your top three priorities as a Township Director be? How would you work to impact and shape the future of The Woodlands?
My top three priorities would be protecting our quality of life, planning responsibly for our future, and strengthening our community.
First, I want to protect what makes The Woodlands special—our beautiful natural environment, parks and pathways, public safety, and the quality of life our residents value. As our community grows, we need to make thoughtful decisions that preserve the character and amenities that brought so many of us here.
Second, I want to continue planning responsibly for the future. That means being good stewards of taxpayer dollars, maintaining our infrastructure, addressing transportation and mobility needs, and making sure future development is thoughtful and sustainable.
Third, I want to strengthen the connections that make The Woodlands a true community. I believe in listening to residents, supporting our businesses and nonprofits, encouraging volunteerism, and bringing people together around common goals. My goal is to help ensure that The Woodlands remains a vibrant, safe, connected community—not just for those who live here today, but for generations to come.

4. Would you like to share any other words or a message to The Woodlands community?
I simply want to say thank you. I’m grateful for the friendships, conversations, and everyday moments that make The Woodlands feel like home. Whether it’s seeing neighbors out walking, attending community events, or watching families grow here, I’m reminded of how special this community is.
Serving The Woodlands has been a meaningful experience, and I appreciate the trust and encouragement residents have shown me. I look forward to continuing to listen, stay involved, and do my part to help keep The Woodlands a welcoming and wonderful place to call home.
