Local Student Volunteers at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands awarded Scholarships
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center recently recognized 31 area high school seniors at their annual Junior Volunteer appreciation dinner. The highlight of the evening was the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Auxiliary awarding $31,000 in scholarships to the graduating students. Many of the student graduates are planning to attend Texas A&M University, Baylor University and the University of Texas at Austin, but also Harvard, the University of Kentucky and the University of North Florida.
The hospital’s Junior Volunteer program is made up of students volunteering weekly, each providing 250 to 340 hours over their two years of service. Students represent a cross-section of public and private schools, as well as charter and home-school programs in The Woodlands and surrounding communities.
