Local Students Celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day with Gifts for Fellow Students

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Nine students at Deretchin Elementary School decided to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day by preparing notes and creating bracelets to give out to fellow students at their school.

Sophia Rice, Malyn Clinchard, Hadley Tusher, Kyra Ligneel, Grace Guydon, Alexys Schulte, Morgana Williams, Maddison Mueller, and Addison Gavin formed a kindness group and decided to do something special for their school. The girls worked as a team, packaging bracelets with kindness notes, preparing approximately 1,000 pieces to be handed out on Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17, 2022. They donated their own money and purchased the supplies for the project, brightening the day of students throughout the school.

The notes attached to the bracelets encouraged the recipients to continue the chain of kindness, stating “Enjoy this random act of kindness. Make the world a better place by bringing a smile to someone’s face!”

National Random Acts of Kindness Day occurs annually on February 17 as part ofRandom Acts of Kindness Week. Everyone is encouraged to perform a thoughtful deed, large or small, to brighten someone’s day.
