The Woodlands, TX – This year’s Wise Conference catered to business professionals and was designed to Inspire, Support, and Empower women in a fun, upbeat networking environment. The conference took place on Wednesday, September 27 at Lone Star Corporate College in The Woodlands.

This year’s conference presented three $1000 scholarships to local women who merited the award.  Scholarships were awarded based on the recipients’ personal vision and community service.  WISE offers scholarships to deserving women with a desire to further their careers through education, expand their business, or start a new one.

This year’s scholarships were awarded to three local women: Rita Wiltz, Karlie LeBlanc, and Cassandra Pennington. The total scholarship package was $1,755 for each winner and contained:

  • $1,000 from WISE
  • One 45-minute individual coaching session and an professional development starter kit from Angela F. Carter, AFC Power Strategy Group, Inc.
  • One-year membership to (BWF) Business Women Forum
  • One-year membership to (MCABW) Montgomery County Association of Business Women
  • Six-month membership to WOAMTEC (Women on a Mission to Earn Commission)
  • One 45-minute Network Etiquette Coaching Session and the book Network Etiquette, Dazzle Don’t Frazzle, from Zircon Consulting

Rita Wiltz shared that her “scholarship would be used to enroll in training that will enhance my career and to travel to a business conference.”

Karlie LeBlanc plans to use the scholarship to support her vision stating, “My vision is to grow my barn and continue to instill confidence in people of all ages through horsemanship. I would use the money to do some minor upgrades to the facility to make the farm a safer and happier place. Along with the few upgrades, I would like to allow some children the opportunity to ride at my facility that may not have been able to afford riding lessons.”

Cassandra Pennington will use this scholarship to apply to the nursing program at Lone Star College in January of 2018.
