Market Street announces 4th annual “Sing-Off” competition on December 12 in Central Park
It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas. Local high school choirs will perform festive holiday numbers at Market Street’s Sing-Off competition on Thursday, December 12th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Central Park.
The Woodlands High School Improv Troupe will open the show. Participating judges include local opera singer Ian Ramirez and Sarah Kelly with the Sarah Kelly Music School.
High schools participating in the competition include The Woodlands High School, Lake Creek High School, Klein Collins High School, Montgomery High School, Tomball Memorial High School, Summer Creek High School, Clear Falls High School, and Bellaire High School.
The first round will include holiday-themed performances from all participating groups, with only selected choirs moving ahead to the next round of the competition. The final round of competition will include performances from the finalists, followed by the naming of The Sing-Off Champion who will be presented with the coveted Sing Off trophy and oversized check. Market Street is donating 10k in prize money to the choirs competing and will be allocated depending on how they place.
Additionally, Sarah Kelly is offering the winning team a one-hour songwriting workshop to further encourage their potential.
Spectators may bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the performances and are encouraged to enjoy hot cocoa and Christmas cotton candy while they enjoy the show.
