Memorial Day Sunday Festival in The Woodlands
Kick off summer in The Woodlands at the Memorial Day Sunday Festival taking place Sunday, May 28, 2017, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Town Green Park, located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive. The Sunday event will feature fireworks, live music, children’s activities, a keynote speaker, strolling entertainers and more.
The festival pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving the United States, and also honors all veterans who serve as a symbol for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice of life to protect our freedom. This year’s keynote speaker will be Lieutenant General Steven A. Hummer, a resident of The Woodlands who served 41 years with the United States Marine Corps.
The stage, sponsored by America’s ER, features live music by Heidi Mays and the Brazos Valley All-Star Band. Following the concert, a dazzling fireworks display choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack is scheduled to light up the night sky over Town Green Park along The Woodlands Waterway at approximately 8:55 p.m., weather permitting.
In addition to the great live music and fireworks, activities including inflatables, face painting and strolling entertainment, may be enjoyed. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Concessions will be available for purchase from a variety of food vendors.
The Memorial Day Sunday Festival in The Woodlands is sponsored by America’s ER, Waste Management and The Woodlands® Development Company. It is produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department.
