Montgomery County Clerk offers additional Saturday hours to help parents obtain birth certificates August 2
Montgomery County Clerk L. Brandon Steinmann announced today that his Conroe office will once again open on a Saturday to help parents obtain birth certificates before the new school year begins. This special weekend event will take place on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the County Clerk’s Conroe location: 210 West Davis Street, Conroe, TX.
“Back-to-school doesn’t have to be back-to-back stress during the workweek,” said County Clerk Steinmann. “Let us take care of your documents so you’re back to your weekend in just minutes.”
To help residents prepare for a fast and efficient visit, the County Clerk’s Office encourages everyone to review the requirements before arriving. The child needing a birth certificate must have been born in the state of Texas, and the requestor must either be the person named on the certificate, a legal representative, or an immediate family member. Valid photo identification is required and may include a Texas Driver License, State or Federal ID, U.S. Passport, or Military ID. A complete list of acceptable IDs is available at www.dshs.texas.gov/vital-statistics/acceptable-identification-id. Visitors must also bring a completed birth certificate application, which can be picked up in the County Clerk’s lobby, and be prepared to pay the $23 fee using cash, credit/debit card, or check.
“For those who can’t make it in person,” Steinmann said, “we’ve made it easy to request birth certificates online. Our office will process the order locally, and you can choose to have it shipped or pick it up when it’s convenient.” Online requests can be submitted at https://montgomerytxvitals.permitium.com.
