Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigates Homicide in Deer Pines Subdivision in Conroe

By  |

On February 7, 2024, at 9:20 pm, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Waller Street, Conroe, Texas, in reference to an assault with a firearm call. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered an adult male and an adult female with apparent gunshot wounds and immediately performed life-saving measures. Unfortunately, despite deputies’ best efforts, life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and the adult male victim, identified as 41-year-old Leroy Constantine Jr., was pronounced deceased on scene. The adult female victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene and are currently conducting their investigation. Throughout the course of their investigation, Detectives determined the 17-year-old son shot his mother and father after a verbal argument.

The suspect, who turned himself in at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, is identified as Tra Vontay Constantine. He is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail for charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Murder, with a bond amount of $250,000.

This appears to be an isolated incident amongst these family members, and there is no threat to the public.

During this tragic time, our thoughts and prayers are with the Constantine family and friends.
