Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office unveils New Agency Designs
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce a new badge, patch, and vehicle design. These are more than updates to our look, they are symbols of our journey together as an agency and a community. They honor 188 years of history while marking a new chapter in our service to Montgomery County.
The rebranding process began with a reflection on the past, a careful look at where the office stands today, and a vision for the future. Every element was chosen to carry meaning and reinforce the values and responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office.
- The Star: Central to the design, the star represents the office’s core values of Service, Teamwork, Accountability, and Respect (STAR). Its upright point serves as the North Star, a guide to staying true to principle.
- Gold: Seen in the patch border, vehicle stripe, and badges, gold symbolizes honor, integrity, and excellence, reflecting a standard of trust and valor that must never be tarnished.
- Black: Featured in the patch, badge, and vehicles, black conveys strength, sacrifice, and remembrance, while underscoring the resilience of deputies.
- Silver: Found in badges and on vehicles, silver stands for integrity, impartial service, and truth.
- Texas Flag Colors: Red represents bravery, white stands for purity of heart, and blue reflects loyalty and duty to the oath of office. The State of Texas emblem has also been restored to the patch to emphasize pride in those we serve.
- Oak and Olive Branches: The oak leaf represents strength and humility, while the olive branch stands for peace and the role of deputies as guardians.
- County Outline: The shape of Montgomery County grounds the design in its home, reminding deputies to serve faithfully as they have for nearly two centuries.
- New Vehicle Design: The updated patrol cars provide visibility, presence, and a clear symbol of public safety while honoring agency tradition.
Sheriff Doolittle emphasized that these outward symbols are a reflection of the inward commitment of every employee:
“The badge we wear, the patch on our uniform, and the vehicle that carries our name across Montgomery County are daily reminders of our duty to uphold the highest standards of service. They represent credibility to our principles and pride in our traditions. As our community begins to see this new look for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, let it serve as a reminder that together, the past, present, and future unite, and we are better together. Together, we will honor our history and continue building a Sheriff’s Office future generations will be proud of.”
