Montgomery County’s July 4th DWI Task Force Initiative results in 52 Arrests
Montgomery County’s coordinated DWI Task Force Initiative over the Fourth of July holiday weekend – from noon on July 4th through 7:00 AM on July 7th – resulted in 52 arrests for DWI/BWI.
A total of 41 deputies, officers, and troopers registered as official Task Force participants, many of whom worked throughout the entire enforcement period.
The initiative included collaboration between the following agencies: Texas Department of Public Safety, Splendora Police Department, Roman Forest Police Department, Oak Ridge Police Department, Montgomery County Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Montgomery County Constables Precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
“This kind of partnership reflects the shared commitment of law enforcement across the county to keep our roads safe,” said Chief Prosecutor Taylor Vanegas. “We’re grateful for the long hours and hard work each agency contributed to make this holiday safer for everyone.”
“When it comes to impaired driving, Montgomery County takes a zero-tolerance approach — and this Task Force is proof,” said District Attorney Brett Ligon. “Our law enforcement officers gave up their own holiday to protect yours, and their work prevented potential tragedies. We will always stand behind them as they stand between danger and our community.”
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office extends its sincere thanks to each participating agency and all law enforcement for their continued dedication to public safety and DWI enforcement.
