National Nonprofit Petco Love Invests in Operation Pets Alive to Save and Improve the Lives of Pets in Montgomery County

By  |

Operation Pets Alive is set to receive a $10,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets in Montgomery County.

Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier. Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $425 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations — like ours — across North America, with more than 7 million pets adopted and counting.

“Our investment in Operation Pets Alive is part of more than $12M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost and found database that uses photo-matching technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”

“We are so grateful for the generous investment from Petco Love and appreciate the ongoing opportunity to partner with our local Petco store twice monthly for adoption events in The Woodlands. As an entirely volunteer run non-profit organization, we will ensure that every cent goes directly to helping pets in need,” said Rebecca Forbes, Vice President of Operation Pets Alive.

Operation Pets Alive, (OPA) is a volunteer run, foster-home based nonprofit organization that is committed to reducing shelter intake and euthanasia throughout Montgomery County. OPA focuses on promoting adoption, fostering, and rescue, while also addressing root causes of pet overpopulation through spay/neuter programs, pet retention, and rehoming support. Since 2011, OPA has placed 14,000 dogs and 6,000 cats into loving homes! For more information about Operation Pets Alive, visit operationpetsalive.org.
