Set in Imperial Russia, Fiddler on the Roof tells the poignant story of Tevye, a Jewish milkman in Anatevka, grappling with tradition amidst social upheaval. He debates with God about family, livelihood, and upholding customs in a changing world, symbolized by his refrain, “Tradition!” His five daughters challenge his traditional views on marriage, with Tzeitel marrying for love, Hodel following a radical, and Chava marrying outside their faith. The musical also portrays the broader struggles of the Jewish community under the Tsar’s anti-Semitic regime, facing displacement and persecution. Despite adversity, their resilience and community spirit endure. Fiddler on the Roof explores faith, love, family, and survival in a shifting world.

A diverse cast, aged 14 to 99, will perform on July 25-27 and August 2-3 at the Lone Star College Tomball Performing Arts Center (30555 Tomball Parkway, Tomball). The production will be led by director/choreographer Carla Prescott, assistant directors Holly Jasso and Christine Tonkin, vocal director Shana Manna, assistant vocal director Nikki Gould, and choreographer Abigail Baker.
