NICU Pumpkin Patch is sprouting at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands
Just in time for some Halloween fun, the staff at The Richard Rivas, MD Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center is brewing up some delightful tiny treats that are big on creating smiles. The first Halloween is indeed the sweetest and NICU staff enjoy creating memorable experiences for patient families by helping them gently dress up their precious newborn babies in hand-made costumes, including Tinkerbell, a bumblebee and a blooming flower, a total knockout, a very little mermaid, a pink turtle, twins Batman & Robin, a hula girl, ladybug, Disney’s Stitch and a dinosaur!
Parent and family bonding with all babies, especially more medically fragile ones like those in the NICU, is an essential part of healthy healing and growing. Every NICU journey is full of steps and milestones toward graduation home – enjoy this real treat for the eyes and heart alike.
