Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive (OPA), highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.

Meet Periwinkle & Flax – The Perfect Pair!
Looking for double the love and double the fun? Periwinkle and Flax are 1.5 year old Domestic Shorthairs – a bonded pair who will bring endless joy and entertainment to your home!
Periwinkle
Fun, fun, fun – that’s Periwinkle! This curious explorer loves to run, climb cat trees, and chase pom-pom balls. No nook goes unexplored when Periwinkle is around! Following her foster mom is a favorite pastime—she’s a pro at “helping” with laundry, making beds, and even supervising printer paper changes. When it’s time to relax, you’ll find her lounging in a sunny window or perched on a cat tree. Her satiny soft coat is a dream to stroke, and while she enjoys short cuddles, she’s happiest when she’s on the move.
Flax
Happy and full of energy, Flax is the life of the party! His foster mom says he loves everyone—cats, dogs, and eventually people too. He’s still a little cautious, so patience will help him blossom into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be. Once he trusts you, he adores having his sleek black coat stroked. Flax gets along great with other cats and even enjoys playing with kittens. Bonus: Flax is an ace at puzzles, so he’ll keep you entertained with his clever antics.
