Precinct 3, Conroe ISD improving school zone safety along Waterbend Cove

By  |

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack’s Office and the Conroe Independent School District are implementing measures to improve school zone safety along Waterbend Cove.

Effective immediately, vehicles will be prohibited from parking, stopping or standing in both directions along Waterbend Cove during peak morning and afternoon school hours for Cox Intermediate, York Junior High and Snyder Elementary schools.

Signage will be installed along Waterbend Cove, and officers will be proactively enforcing the no parking, no stopping, no standing signage. Drivers will not be allowed to stop and drop off or pick up students along Waterbend Cove; park on Waterbend Cove and walk to the school to meet students; or park and wait for students anywhere on Waterbend Cove.

When dropping off or picking up students, drivers are strongly encouraged to use the available car lines.

On Friday, Conroe ISD Superintendent Dr. Curtis Null and Commissioner Noack met with York Junior High administrators, as well as members of the Conroe ISD Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson’s Office and Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable’s Office to discuss possible improvements to help alleviate vehicle and pedestrian traffic along and across Waterbend Cove when school is starting in the morning and letting out in the afternoon.

All of these agencies will be working together to enforce this measure and any future ones for the enhancement of public safety.
