Sheriff’s Office conducting Death Investigation in The Woodlands

By  |

On April 16, 2024, at about 3:50 pm, a Woodlands Township Park Ranger made a distressing discovery in the pond at Copper Sage Park, located at 75 South Golden Arrow Circle, The Woodlands. A small urn was found floating, and upon inspection, what appeared to be a human fetus was discovered inside.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, along with a Death Investigator from the Montgomery County Forensic Center, are on location investigating. The fetus was in the early stages of development and will be taken to the Montgomery County Forensics Center, where an autopsy and thorough investigation will be completed. Once the autopsy is complete we hope to have more information to release. At this time, there is no threat to the public.

We understand the gravity of this situation and the impact it may have on our community. In times like these, it is important for us to come together in support and prayer. Please know that we are working diligently to gather more information and will provide updates as they become available.

UPDATE 4/18/24: The Montgomery County Forensics Center has completed an examination on the fetus found on Tuesday, April 16, in Copper Park in the Woodlands, TX. The examination revealed that the fetus was approximately 12-13 weeks gestation. There was no evidence of medical intervention and appears to be a miscarriage. Based on the investigation, this is not a criminal offense and appears that no crime has occurred.
