Sheriff’s Office investigates Shooting in Montgomery
On March 27, 2024, at about 9:30 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 25900 block of Avenue C, Montgomery, TX, in reference to a Welfare Check. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a deceased male and female inside of the residence with apparent gunshot wounds.
Detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crimes Division, along with Crime Scene Investigators, are on scene and investigating. Preliminary investigation indicates that the family members tried to contact the residents at the location but received no response, which led to a welfare check.
The circumstances and motive around this shooting are still under investigation. At this time, this appears to be an isolated incident and only involves the two deceased persons. The deceased have been identified as 62-year-old Stacy Wright and 61-year-old Cathryn Wright. This is a heartbreaking event, and our sincerest condolences go out to the families involved.
The investigation is still ongoing. There is no other information available at this time.
