The panel of judges included water professionals from around the state. Ron McCullough, GRP Utility Operations Superintendent and Miguel Sanchez, GRP Senior Utility Operator, received the award on behalf of SJRA. McCullough stated, “We are thrilled to be recognized for our work. SJRA takes great pride in the quality product we deliver to our groundwater reduction participants. We are excited to have our work recognized.”
SJRA’s surface water treatment plant at Lake Conroe utilizes a very robust treatment process, which includes granulated activated carbon, micro filtration, air stripping, and disinfection to produce the highest quality drinking water.
The plant was opened in 2015 as a regional solution to reduce the reliance on groundwater by drawing on a sustainable resource-surface water from Lake Conroe to provide for Montgomery County’s economic growth and future.
