Houston Symphony performs Disney’s The Little Mermaid Live in Concert at The Pavilion
On Thursday, June 16 the Houston Symphony performed Disney’s The Little Mermaid – Live in Concert at The Pavilion.
Sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, the event featured Disney’s animated classic on the large LED screens as the Houston Symphony performed the film’s Oscar® and Grammy®-winning score live on the stage. One of the most beloved films and soundtracks, “The Little Mermaid” featured songs and score by Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman.
Before the performance, guests enjoyed free ice cream courtesy of Aramark in the North Plaza and other pre-performance activities including a meet and greet with Princess Ariel, an arts & crafts booth, themed games and sponsor activations.
Mezzanine and lawn seating are free for all performing arts events and tickets for most performances are $25 for orchestra seating. Guests are welcome to bring a picnic from home or their favorite restaurant to enjoy in their seat or on the hill. Beverages cannot be brought into The Pavilion and picnics must also comply with The Pavilion’s bag size restriction and/or be in original packaging.
