The Woodlands Diversion Presents “Mi Historia”
The Woodlands Diversion brings audiences the world premiere of Mi Historia, a heartfelt one-man show starring Jason Rocha as “Pepe,” a barbacoa chef who finds his identity and joy in the flavors of home, the strength of family, and the music of his heart.
Written and directed by Jason Rocha and Matthew Kent Everett, the 90-minute production blends humor, heart, and live music to celebrate Mexican-American identity and the joy of belonging. Featuring new arrangements of beloved Mexican folk tunes—including La Bamba, Cielito Lindo, and Jarabe Tapatío—alongside original music, Mi Historia honors Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month in partnership with the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Audience members will also enjoy complimentary barbacoa snacks from Porky’s Belly during intermission.
A post-performance reception will follow at Galindo’s Coffee & Elixirs.

Tickets are available now at thewoodlandsdiversion.org. Admission is included for season ticket holders; single tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
