The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend celebrates 40th Anniversary
On Monday, September 21, The Woodlands Family YMCA at Shadowbend celebrated its 40th Anniversary and four decades of strengthening The Woodlands community.
Guests reconnected with old friends, met community members, and visited with the people who helped shape our local Y over the years. Together, attendees celebrated the memories, relationships, and lasting impact that have made Shadowbend such a special part of our community.

For 40 years, the Shadowbend Family YMCA has been a place where children have learned new skills, families have found support, friendships have been formed, and individuals have discovered a stronger sense of confidence and belonging. None of that happens without a community that continues to show up, invest, volunteer, lead, and believe in the mission of the Y.
As the YMCA honors those 40 years, they are also looking ahead to the lives the YMCA can impact next.
Through their $40 for 40,000 Campaign, their goal is to raise $40,000 to provide 300 children with free access to youth sports and swim lessons. A gift of $40 can help give a child the opportunity to build confidence, learn lifesaving skills, make new friends, and experience the sense of belonging that has been at the heart of the YMCA for the past 40 years.
