The Woodlands Family YMCA partners with IRONMAN Foundation to make kids swim ready
The Woodlands Family YMCA is proud to partner with the IRONMAN Foundation to provide 4,000 swim lessons to local children and families who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn this lifesaving skill. This $15,000 grant will support swimming education across Montgomery County and surrounding communities. Drowning is the second leading cause of death in children under the age of 14 in Texas. Learning to swim is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of drowning while building confidence, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging lifelong participation in aquatic activities.
“We’re proud to partner with the YMCA because of their proven ability to reach families and deliver lifesaving programs where they’re needed most,” said Shane Facteau, President of The IRONMAN Foundation. “We’ve teamed up with YMCAs around the U.S. for Swim Ready and are proud to do so here in The Woodlands, TX as well. Together, we can expand access to water safety education and help more children gain the skills they need to stay safe in and around the water.”

Thanks to the support of the IRONMAN Foundation, we’re able to help more children gain confidence in the water while learning skills that can save lives.”
