August 2024 – Classes and Programs at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center – Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer – at no cost to you. If your life has been impacted, whether you were the patient or the caregiver, you have a safe haven at Canopy. August is full with programs and classes at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center! August 10, 2024 – YES to YOUTH Pop Art Gala – The 2024 YES to YOUTH Pop Art Gala will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 6 to 11 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott benefiting YES to YOUTH serving at risk youth in our community. August 17, 2024 – Chairman’s Ball – The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Chairman’s Ball presented by Kean Miller LLP will be held on Saturday, August 17 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. The Chairman’s Ball is an annual event that celebrates the outgoing Chairman of the Board and welcomes the new Chairman of the Board as a new Chamber year begins. This year’s ball will honor outgoing Chairman Brian Albert of Kean Miller LLP and welcome new Chairman, Ann Wolford of The Wolford Group. August 1 – September 2, 2024 – Houston Restaurant Weeks – Now in its 21st year, Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank and has made a monumental impact by raising over $21 million to date. The Houston Food Bank is able to turn every dollar donated into three meals, which equates to over 63 million meals for food insecure Houstonians. August 24, 2024 – The Walk – The Walk, A Black Tie Fashion Affair Benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands, will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott starting at 6 p.m. The “Fashion for a Cause” event with the theme of “Iridescent: Be Iridescently You” will include a New York-style runway fashion show featuring designs from Saks Fifth Avenue, feature a Best Dressed Competition for attendees, and the Community Champions will star in the Runway Finale. August 25, 2024 – Overdose Awareness Day – Local communities in The Montgomery and Harris County area and around the world are coming together at the end of August to remember those who have died or suffered permanent injury due to substances. Montgomery County Overdose Prevention Endeavor (M-COPE) will be hosting an event at Tomball High School, located at 30330 Quinn Rd Tomball, TX 77375 on Sunday, August 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. that will focus on education, remembrance, prevention and awareness in our area and the state of Texas. August 29, 2024 – Salute to First Responders Blood Drive – The Woodlands Township is teaming up with the local Post 305 American Legion to host the “Salute to First Responders Blood Drive” on Thursday, August 29 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Woodlands Township (Meeting Room entrance).
