Township Board of Directors hold Incorporation Planning Session and Regular Meeting

On Thursday, June 17, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors held an Incorporation Planning Session to discuss future governance and held its regular meeting at The Woodlands Township Town Hall.

Incorporation Planning Session

The Board of Directors discussed the following incorporation-related matters on the Regular Agenda:

To restart the Incorporation Planning Study Process, the Board received an Overview of the governance timeline, legislation and communication efforts to date, from Township Secretary/Assistant to the President Karen Dempsey.

Assistant General Manager of Finance and Administration Monique Sharp provided a presentation on the Status of Incorporation Financial Model including a recap of Board decision points during the 2018-2020 planning study. 

Consultant Don Norrell concluded the meeting with a Water and Sewer Utility Analysis presentation.

Incorporation planning sessions are held at The Woodlands Township, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., The Woodlands, Texas 77381, typically on the same days as the Board’s regular business meetings. Regular Meeting

Before addressing regular business items, the Board of Directors issued a proclamation.

In support of the National Recreation and Parks Association and The Woodlands Township’s 150 parks, 14 pools, 220+ miles of pathway, countless greenbelts, two recreation centers, two Boat Houses and an Adventure Course, the Board of Directors proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month in The Woodlands, Texas. 

The Board of Directors took the following actions on the Consent Agenda:

  • Received Administrative Reports from Township departments. 
  • Approved an agreement for Trolley Heavy-Duty Towing Services.
  • Approved the Federal Transit Authority required annual review  for The Woodlands Township’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan.
  • Adopted Resolution No. 012-21, nominating Peggy Hausman as the Special District Candidate for the Montgomery Central Appraisal District Board election.
