Village Books celebrates Independent Bookstore Day in The Woodlands
Village Books celebrated Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 29, 2023 with discounts, giveaways and events.

Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place every year at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Village Books, the local bookstore located at 9955 Woodlands Parkway in The Woodlands, invited the community to celebrate on Saturday, April 29 with a day of bookish fun including giveaways, discounts, a reading of The Postcard Project by author Maggie Lauren Brown, and an Art & Lit Project with Julie Verville of Ardest Gallery.
Teresa Kenney, owner of Village Books, also presented a check to Karisa Holland for the “Ringing Up Kindness” event at the store held on Saturday, April 22 that donated 20 percent of sales and raised $266 for the nonprofit Southern Sudan Mission to raise funds to build a tuition free school for orphans Kindergarten through 6th grade in Ethiopia.
